Proper gutter drainage

Poor downspout example next to a proper drainage away from structure. Downspout drain before and after.

SERVPRO of Berrien County has been helping residential and commercial properties cleanup after ground water flooding  since 1995.  We have helped customers in Niles, Buchanan, New Buffalo, Sawyer, St. Joseph and Coloma.  Water will get in your home in many ways unless you take steps to keep it out.

One of those ways to keep water out of your home is to keep it away from your foundation with proper drainage.  The ground should slope away from the house and the downspout should discharge water at least 5 feet away.  Some home owners will bury  the drain line and other put an extension on the downspout.

With clean gutters and proper downspout drainage many owners will reduce their risk of water damage to buildings.

If you experience water damage or flooding in your building, call the SERVPRO professionals at 269-925-6841  24/7/365 for emergency service.
